“My research interests include building technology, construction and building systems as well as design for tropical environment, as one of my research projects is ‘A Study of Thermal Behavior of Opaque Walls with Shading Devices/ Ceramic Coating/ Heat and Light Transfer through Double Glass’. I am also interested in architectural education and professional practice since it is crucial for architecture students. Having been working as a vice president for the Association of Siamese Architects and the Architect Council of Thailand, I take initiatives in establishing a program for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Internship Development Program (IDP) for Thai architects.”

Green Area Standards for a Liveable City

Green areas play an important part in absorbing carbon dioxide to maintain pure atmosphere, reducing the city heat and improving the quality of life and environment in city communities. Chanikarn Yimprayoon’s research on “Green Area Standards” consists of a quantity and quality standard, specifying minimum amount of green areas required by the standard of each community, and suggestions of suitable plantation for each municipality to use as a guide for creating efficient green areas which will lead to the formation of a more sustainable and liveable city.
